I’m a UI/UX designer focused on creating human-focused products and services that are intuitive, appealing, efficient, and accessible. My goal is to create seamless products that, when incorporated into people’s lives, are effortless and are a blessing rather than a burden.

Professional Experience

Every step of my career has reinforced my fascination with design and user experience (UX). As a software engineer, I experienced the pitfalls of minimizing the importance of user centered design. I supported software projects that provide Interface Control Documents (ICDs) as guidelines and lacks direction on how to design the user interface (UI). With 6+ years of experience, I realized there was a necessity for me to gain UX knowledge to integrate with my engineering skillset and fill the gap between the user and software engineering to create efficient products.

Personal Experience

Observing design flaws in products carries over into my personal life. In the past few years I realized poor website design/workflow prevents me from completing a task in a timely manner. Other websites with clear and concise designs prove much easier to use and allow me to remain focused. Through those personal experiences, I realized that companies need to consider a diverse group of users and strive to provide products that can be utilized in a fair and equitable manner. UX design affects our daily lives, and the design can make user’s lives easier. I aim to integrate my software engineering knowledge as a UX designer to allow me to have a positive impact professionally and personally.

I aspire to be a change agent utilizing UX design. In projects I have supported, there seems to be a detachment between software development and the end user’s experience that I would like to address. My goal is to work in an environment where I can be a key influencer and collaborate with end users to design viable and user-friendly products for a diverse clientele. After gaining more experience in design, I plan to progress into managing cross-functional teams for both software development and UX Design where I will create a product lifecycle that will improve process efficiency and positive outcomes. I also hope to find opportunities to give back to the community at large to help individuals and projects by advising others and sharing my knowledge of UX.
